Elisabeth Pieper studied Communication and Media Studies in Berlin, Istanbul and Potsdam. In her artistic-research practice, she works across print, audio, transmission technologies, and in collective formations. Her work centers on auditory memory cultures, collective forms of knowledge, and listening as a method. She is interested in genealogies of perception, queer-feminist practices, hacking, and naturecultures. She approaches radio as an experimental playground, a social space, and a site of rupture and malfunction (“the queer art of failure”). Using sound and voice as material, she develops works in which listening becomes perceptible as a practice of its own. Her work appears as audio pieces, performances, installations, readings, and publications.
Elisabeth is part of the artist collective hooops and co-host at “Belladonna Nuit” on Cashmere Radio.
